Taking a Mini Break
Hey guys, I've decided to take a small break from this blog.
This decision has been a couple of months in the making. Don't worry, nothing bad has happened. Yes, I plan on returning in the future. I just have some other things that I'm working on at the moment and it would benefit me to take some time off.
Ever since I started my schedule of Wednesday posts, I've only missed a couple. It's not exactly the most rigorous posting schedule, but it's still a lot of stuff to come up with and write on a weekly basis. Adding in a YouTube video a week, daily Instagram posts, and it's quite a bit of content creation.
I've been re-evaluating a few things about what I want to do with this blog and it's going to take me some time to fully explore my options. Some stuff is working for me right now and some isn't. For example, the majority of my posts are about reading, writing, and storytelling. That's worked for the past 6 years of this blog's existence, but there are times when I want to write about stuff that aren't related to those things. Right now, it doesn't feel like my blog is the right place for that. Most of that gets put on my YouTube channel or ends up on my Instagram stories/posts.
There are other things at play too. I'm still job hunting and in the meantime, I've found the free time to work on a few secret projects. I've affectionally named them Secret Project #1, Secret Project #2, and Secret Project #3. I fear that my love of working on things in secret will soon lead to a Secret Project #4.
The time I want to dedicate to each of these secret projects requires that I take time off something else for a bit. So I planned this little break in order to allow me time for those projects. It works out nicely and I think that taking time away will also give me space to rejuvenate the creativity I need for more blog post ideas.
There's a lot more I could say, but I want to keep this simple. I'll be back to my blog in a couple of months at the earliest. In the meantime, there's plenty of content I've written that you can read. I'll still be posting weekly to YouTube and daily on Instagram, so you can follow me there to see what I'm up to.
Until then, I'll see you elsewhere on the Internet and I hope you'll come back when I return to my blog.
